Many Hats

During the first night of the Stampin' Up convention there was a kick-off party with a garden theme.  The company encouraged demonstrators to wear a custom decorated sunhat.  Normally I love challenges like these, but this year I was just crazy busy making my card swaps and I really didn't have the time to devote to hat creation.  Lots of people did, however, make some awesome hats.

While they are all great, I think my favorite is the beehive above.  I might have to copy that one for Halloween and dress as a beekeeper!

Scrapbook Ideas

Long before I was a rubber stamper, I was a scrapbooker.  I think it's important to document life's events in photos and text.  I urge you to record your life!  I don't even have children, but I still make scrapbooks.  I like to look back and remember the past.  And who knows, perhaps someday a long lost relative will appreciate the things I recorded about my life (or just look at my pictures long enough to make fun of the clothes I wore or the types of cars we drove. lol)  Here are some scrapbook pages I saw on display at Convention.  I hope they will inspire you to make your own.

Happy Tuesday

For those who attended my New Catalog party last night, I wanted to thank you again for coming.  I hope you got lots of new card making ideas and enjoyed the fellowship of other stampers.  I just wish I had not left my camera at home.  I would have loved to have posted the Blindfolded Card Crafter Contest photos on my blog this morning.  lol

Today I have more cards to share plus a cute scrapbooking page.  Enjoy!

Now onto the cards....

Starting today, I will be posting pictures of the cards I saw on display or the swaps I received at Convention 2011.  When I know the name of the artist, I will indicate that on the post, however, many of the cards are not marked.  There are some talented demonstrators from all over the country.  I hope you enjoy the works they have created.  :)  Check back soon for another 5 ideas!

Convention Video

Here's a video of the Stampin' Up Convention to hold you over until I get some swap card images uploaded to the blog.  It's SO much fun!  I'd love to have you join my team and go with me next year.  Mark your calendars.... July 18-21, 2012.  :)

Hello! I'm Home!

Hello card made by Deanna Einarson
Hello my friends!  I have made it home from the annual Stampin' Up National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.  I LOVE convention.  I love spending time with other demonstrators, watching stage presentations, taking classes, swapping cards, and getting fresh new ideas to bring home and share with you!  I had a great time.  There was only one small setback... I got sick.  If you have known me for any amount of time, you know this is common.  I go on vacation and I always end up sick.  It's a curse.  I usually blame my illness on recirculated airplane air, however, this time I can't do that since we drove to Utah.  lol  I left home early (too early in my opinion!) on Friday and came down with cold symptoms on Tuesday.  Unfortunately the convention began on Wednesday.  I was sort of in a fog the entire 4 days.  It's good I took pictures of things, because my brain wasn't functioning. lol
Anyway, I still had a great time.  I met a new friend, Lauri, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  I called us the "injured reserve" Stampin' Up demonstrators, as I had a sinus/respiratory infection and she had a severe sprained ankle complete with the boot.  I was happy to find someone moving slower and a little miserable, like me!  lol
I have a TON of cards to share and I will be doing so over the next several weeks.  I got the best swap cards EVER this year and I think you'll enjoy seeing them.  Since I'm still trying to fight off the "vacation curse cold," I probably won't begin the postings until  early next week.  :)  Thanks for being patient.

On a final note, there is still time to sign up for the FREE New Catalog party.  I'm taking registrations through Friday because the event is scheduled for Monday night.  Drop me a note at svzhong@gmail.com if you want to attend.  :)

Peace Within & Travel Update

I love getting handmade cards in the mail, don't you?  Joyce, one of my customers, surprised me today by sending a beautiful card using the Peace Within stamp set.  She is very talented at coloring and I have to admit I feel a little inadequate now.  lol  I wish you could see the shading on the image of the basket.  The photo just doesn't do it justice.  I also love how she threaded ribbon into the crochet trim.  It's just beautiful and it made my day!  Thanks so much Joyce!

I also wanted to mention that I am leaving for the Stampin' Up Convention on Friday, so this will be my last post on the blog until I return.  I am taking 250 swaps and I'll be sharing the cards I made plus some of the ones I received starting on July 20th on the blog.  Be sure to come back then to see some awesome ideas!  As a reminder for those in the local area, don't forget that I'm having a New Catalog party on Monday, July 25th.  I'll be showcasing some of the swaps there too.  The event is free, but you do need to register by sending me a note via email so I'll know you're coming.  See you after vacation!  :)

Happy (Stampin' Up) New Year!

First let me just say that I'm SO excited about the new catalog!  It went "live" today at Noon.  If you haven't done so already, feel free to look at the catalog link on my blog or even log onto my "Shop Now" site to look around.

I have had the catalog in my hands for a couple of weeks now and I'm still looking at it and finding new things for my wish list.  Have you made your wish list yet?  If it's long, then I have some suggestions.  First, you can always host a home workshop.  It's a class for you and your friends in your home (or we can do it in my classroom.)  Based on sales, you can earn free stamp sets and products.

The other option is to become a demonstrator yourself!  I love doing what I do!  I love getting my hands on new products before everyone else, I love getting a discount on everything I order, I love getting to go to conventions and conferences, and I love meeting such wonderful people as I share my love of stamping.  This month you can join Stampin' Up as a demonstrator for only $99!  You get 2 stamp sets, 4 ink pads, a collection of cardstock, a pack of designer series paper, a package of note cards, a spool of ribbon, a blender pen, snail adhesive, and a "c" clear mount block.  Some of the items in the kit may be customized so you can select your own stamp sets (of equal value) and colors.  In the month of July, you also will receive a Christmas Keepsake Product Kit.  If you're interested you can sign up online by clicking here.  You'll see a list of the goodies you get for $99.  Then on the upper right side, you'll see a link for "Join the Fun."  Go there and click "Join Now" button on the left.  You'll just fill out your info and then select the items you want in your kit (it's a good idea to have your catalog handy or to look up things online ahead of time!)  Contact me at svzhong@gmail.com if you have questions.

The fine print:
1.  Your base commission is 20% and that amount can increase based on sales and downline.  (Your first order discount is 30%!)

2.  In order to stay active as a demonstrator, you must submit orders totaling $300 each quarter (that works out to $100/month!)  This is the retail total.  Your total will be less the 20%.

3.  If you want to have an online store, you want to sign up for that within the first 21 days so you can get 2 months hosting for free.  After that it's $12.95/mth.

4.  You don't have to have workshops or sell online.  You can just sell to yourself!

5.  Signing up in July will allow you to take advantage of the Holiday Mini Catalog preorder of merchandise.  (Again, I love getting stuff before it is officially available!hehe)
