Did you see the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Kit on page 17 of the Occasions catalog? I’ve been wanting to make a perpetual calendar, so I grabbed this one on my preorder. When it arrived, I was a bit disappointed. I didn’t contain clear instructions for decorating, but rather a bunch of dull black & white photos on an enclosure. I wasn’t impressed. I wanted a kit with step-by-step color instructions. sigh But I managed because I ended up just doing my own thing. In the end, it’s probably better that way anyway. For the first 9 months or so I was really trying to only use the coordinating stamp set and the Gorgeous Grunge stamps, but then when I got to the Fall/Winter holidays, I pulled out my other stamps to make my calendar even more special.
Also, I wanted to have this hanging on the magnetic board in my craft room, so I changed it a bit. I used my Cinch binding machine to bind it together. I added a heavy duty eyelet to the back and used twine to tie a magnet to the calendar. Then I used the fancy gold clip to just hold the pages closed. Here are the results:
It looks nice hanging in my craft room and this way maybe I’ll do a better job of remembering birthdays!
**Note: These items aren't available yet, but they will be as of January 6th!**

As promised, here are some more of the pretty cards I received this year!
I can always depend on Robin to send me flip-cards. I love the colors on this one.
Joyce sent me this pretty card with a non-hairy bird! (Our inside joke making fun of the Beautiful Season birdie!)
Cinda made a cute card using lots of designer paper. Clever girl!
This one was made by my parents. It’s beautiful and I can take credit for teaching them everything they know about card crafting. lol
Mary made this pretty blue card with lots of texture and sparkle.
Doris made this pretty card with the silver glimmer paper peeking out. So shiny!

I always get some of the nicest handmade cards each Christmas. Here are some (I still need to photograph others, but I will soon!)
Phyllis always produces cards that are tasteful and elegant. This one is so pretty!
I loved that Diane selected the owl punch for her Christmas cards. How cute is that?
Pauline was clever and stamped Santa onto a clear sheet to go over the glimmer paper. So cool!
Mona & I both bought this stamp set. Only she figured out what to do with it! Good Job!
Sally’s star-flip card is so striking. It’s so pretty that I plan to copy it for next year. hehe
Like I said, I have more to share, but I haven’t managed to photograph them yet. Check back soon!

Boy time flies. I had planned to show off all my Christmas cards that I didn’t want to post until after I mailed them. I knew I was really behind this year and this is the proof. So, here are a bunch of Christmas cards that I did this year. Better late than never! The first 2 were probably the favorites of all the ones I made this year. Granted, I like brown and natural colors, so maybe that’s why I loved them.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
